The College of Charleston softball team plays at Patriots Point Athletics Complex in Mt. Pleasant, S.C. The $6.5 million facility is home to the Cougar soccer, softball, tennis and baseball programs.
The main building is equipped with locker rooms, a meeting area and press areas for all teams. Also housed there are concessions and a full laundry facility. The 35-acre complex also includes softball and baseball practice fields as well as five Mt. Pleasant youth soccer fields. A state-of-the-art training building fulfills the medical needs of all the student-athletes at Patriots Point. In 2007 an updated sound system, improved netting behind the backstop and an awning were installed as part of a $3 million renovation.
Patriots Point was completed in the fall of 2000 and was a collaborative effort between the College of Charleston, the Town of Mt. Pleasant, and the Patriots Point Development Authority. The complex operates on a joint agreement between Mt. Pleasant and CofC concerning the use and maintenance of the fields.
